Love this place! While the exterior and interior of the building leave little to be desired, the food completely makes up for it! I used to live close by so I frequented Gusto almost weekly. The pizza is delicious. It has a nice thin crust and I've yet to be disappointed. Now to the grinders.. Best ever! I love the bread they use. I don't know what it is about it that makes it so good but if I want a grinder I won't go anywhere but Gusto. The salads are also good.

We split the veal parm sandwich and fried mozzarella. While Idont think the fried mozzarella was homemade it was still tastey enough. Very reasonable priced. Friendly staff. Not much of an atmosphere but good for a quick lunch.

I've ordered from Gusto a few times now and won't repeat again. Sandwiches are okay as has been the pasta that I've tried. The pizza has been unimpressive though. They also seem to have a problem getting people's orders right. My latest attempt was to order their "Ercole" pizza (sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions, mushrooms) instead a broccoli pizza was delivered... I see how the two could be confused, but maybe the person taking the orders over the phone should speak english better... If you want to use Italian names to jazz up your menu, you should be prepared to deal with non-italian native speakers ordering over the phone. To make it worse, the broccoli pizza was terrible. No sauce and just generally bland. Maybe that's how a broccoli pizza is supposed to taste;) I took one bite and tossed the whole pizza in the trash. We don't have a lot of delivery options around this area, which is why I've given Gusto a few tries, but they are now off our list...

I just moved to the area and wanted to find a good pizza place. My husband remembered when this place was called Hercules and he said it was good then so I thought I'd give it a try. We ordered a large cheese pizza, a large steak and cheese sandwich and an order of spaghetti and meatballs. The pizza was pretty fresh and flavorful. It wasn't very good when reheated the next day. The sandwich was delicious. The steak was plentiful and tasty. I had the spaghetti and meatballs for lunch the next day. It wasn't too bad. The meatballs were delicious and a little spicy which was a pleasant surprise. The pasta was cooked to a good consistency and the sauce was a little blah. I picked up the order and the guy was very friendly. I had ordered a special and the sandwich I ordered wasn't included but they went ahead and included it for us. The prices were reasonable and the quality was there. I would have gladly paid more for the quality and service we received.

I used to love this place! But the pizzas that I got last night were terrible. Burned bottoms and cheese that peeled of in one big, coagulated chunk. Nothing yummy, gooey or tasty. My husband is a big fan of salt but he said the chicken wings were so salty that they were inedible. Three people in my family got an upset stomach after eating the food. Never again.

Anyone who doesn't like the food here, doesn't know good food. It's always fresh and tastes like home-cooked Italian. I really hope they keep busy and stay in business because there's really no good Italian spots in NS. As far as the crust being burnt.... that little bit of char makes it taste that much better. The owner is from Italy and this place tastes authentic.

I'd love to write a long review with 5 stars for their pizza, which would be accurate, but their price can be insulting. 20+ dollars for two pizzas? Staff that gets orders wrong half the time? They even discontinued the coupons that they had on their menu. Since Hercules left, this new place is only different in the quality of pizza. Just a couple little changes would improve a lot.

Moved to Slatersville and was worried about finding some decent local pizza...found it! They're basic pizzas are good but they somehow nail spinach head on! I dont get it. haha. The bread they use for sandwhiches is awesome and as all sandwich people know...its all about the bread. My friend raves about their pasta dishes...have yet to try one but everything else I've had has been better than bad. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I feel they could do better on their wings. I think they are the frozen Wing Ding variety and judging by the rest of their food...im sure they could put out a pretty tasty buffalo wing.

Omg yum! I live within the same distance of gusto and lumberjacks. Always ordered from lumberjacks for pizza. NEVER EVER EVER consistent , pricey and if you want it delivered, forget about it, tack on at least another half hour to their estimated time. It's Halloween night and I called lumberjacks asking how long the wait for delivery was.... "45 mins". Ok, so I don't feel like waiting over an hour for my pizza so I googled pizza places near me and gusto popped up. Thank god! Never again from lumberjacks!!!! This pizza is great, thinner than what I expected but I can def work with that it's so good. Whoever answered the phone was so pleasant. He had an Italian accent.. Great pizza. Good price. Quick delivery. Try it

I was at my parents house and was looking for takeout. Gustos is right down the road so I decided to call in an order. I got a chicken parm sub. It was a good sub for $5 but nothing spectacular. I am curious what their pizza tastes like. If I try it I will be sure to report back!

Had a restaurant.com coupon, ordered the "Everything" pizza. True to it's name, this pizza had everything, fresh vegetables, meats and cheeses. Looks like a typical pizza place, but the food is all that matters to me, I will return for more, even without a coupon. Keep it up.

Called to place an order and the dude who picked up didn't even understand the special (from their own flyer) that I was trying to order. Food was tasty enough although the wings and fries seemed double fried and not fresh. The pizza tastes almost exactly like Papa Gino's with a softer crust. I'm not sure if I'll order there again or not.

Great food, great price, good service. Not a lot of restaurant choice in the area... Definitely recommend this place.

It's a shame I don't see more foot traffic in and out of here, hopefully they are being successful with delivery. I must admit I've avoided the place because when it was Hercules pizza it was typical greasy greek style pizza, slow service, and over priced, though this afternoon I found myself in Slatersville and my kids wanted pizza, so I decided to give the new place a shot ... I was pleasantly surprised, when I walked in the first thing I noticed was that not a single thing about the decor has changed in what seems like 20 years, uh oh I thought to myself while placing my order, I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a turkey grinder with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. While the portion of turkey seemed dwarfed by the add ons, the grinder was awesome and flavorful. The pizza was equally impressive, gone was the typical Greek, greasy pizza, replaced with a fresh, crisp but not hard crust, tasty sauce cheese and plentiful pepperoni toppings. While the resturant hasn't changed much the flavor, texture, and speed of service put any doubts that I had about coming here away , and I will be stopping by again , hopefully many others do too

If you are familiar with the old Hercules near Pacheco Park, let me tell you there is a new guy in town and until recentley had kept the old name, BIG mistake. The new name is Gusto and I think that is important because the food is nothing like the old Hercules. This is not pizza with the nasty cheddar cheese. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS! This is the real thing with fresh garlic and all fresh ingredients. Try the new guy in town you will be thrilled that you did, everything I have had is absolutely delicious. If you want excellent tasting authentic Italian food, stop trying it at these fast food Italian establishments and try the new guy (Gusto) you will be thrilled that you did.

Love this place! It is the best authentic, fresh Italian food my husband and I have had since our trip to Italy! It brings back many many wonderful memories. Gerard, the chef, makes the most delicious food. Gusto's is one of our favorite places to eat. Inexpensive, fresh and outstanding food. We need to keep this place in town so get out there and try this place. It is much more than a pizzeria. This is authentic Italian. Try it, you will love it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
